The perfect way to finish up an eBike tour is to go for lunch and/or a drink while you wind down. This month I am going to feature some of the great places where you can do just that!

Larkins Bar and Restaurant, Garrykennedy

One of our most popular guided tours takes you up into the hills near Garrykennedy, before returning to the lakeshore at Castlelough, ending up back in the beautiful harbour town of Garrykennedy. We also offer the eBike and Kayak experience in the summer months. In Garrykennedy you will find the award winning Larkins Bar and Restaurant, offering great food and drinks and a real Irish pub atmosphere. The Sunday roast is perfect, but any day of the week you’ll get a warm welcome and leave well fed. And Lough Derg eBike Tours customers can avail of a 10% discount!

The Mill Pantry, Carrigahorig

There is a wonderful new addition to the offerings around Lough Derg in Carrigahorig, where Kate and Sinead have recently opened up the Mill Pantry. On the site of the old village shop, their business offers teas, coffees and gluten free goodies as well as artisan products from local suppliers. It’s well worth a visit, and a discount is offered to our customers on guided tours from Terryglass. Visit historic Lorrha, and stop for a coffee on the way!

The Derg Inn, Terryglass

The Derg Inn reopened in Terryglass last year, under new ownership, and a discount is offered to our customers on guided tours from Terryglass. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a good varied menu, and once a month they have a wildly popular Tapas night. They’re a very welcome addition to Terryglass, and a great place to finish up after a cycle.

Wilde Irish Chocolates, Tuamgraney

The Hills, Crafts and Coffee tour from Killaloe brings you to Tuamgraney, the home of Wilde Irish Chocolates. Here, you can pause for a coffee or hot chocolate, pick up a bar or 2 of top class chocolate, or get a sweet treat. You can also do the factory tour and/or make your own bar of chocolate (pre-booking advised for the factory tour).

The Old Barracks, Birdhill

The 3 Counties Shannon tour explores both banks of the Shannon to the south of Killaloe, taking you to view the engineering marvel at Parteen Weir, and travelling through scenic sections of counties Tipperary, Limerick and Clare. En route you will pass through the award-winning village of Birdhill, passing by The Old Barracks, once a police barracks and now a coffee specialist. This is the perfect place to pause for a top notch coffee and a sweet treat. Coffee beans are roasted on the premises, and you can choose from a number of different beans.

The Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh

We offer discounted guided tours from the Abbey Court Hotel under our ‘Places To Stay and Ebike’ scheme, and we also offer a number of tour routes from the Tourist Office at Nenagh. After you have completed your eBike rental or guided tour, a great place to unwind is the Abbey Court Hotel, which offers both the Butler’s Bar and Eatery for meals and drinks, as well as the Coffee Dock for coffees and snacks. There is plenty of outdoor seating for those warmer days.

Killaloe Hotel and Spa

Another of our ‘Places To Stay and Ebike’ is the Killaloe Hotel and Spa, and it is also one of the starting places for our guided tours and eBike rentals from Killaloe. O’Briens Restaurant offers good quality tasty food on their lunch and dinner menus, along with teas, coffees and drinks, perfect to finish up after exploring the County Clare side of Lough Derg,

Lakeside Hotel, Ballina

Another starting place for our guided tours and eBike rentals from Killaloe, and also another of our ‘Places To Stay and Ebike’ is the Lakeside Hotel in Ballina. They specialise in locally sourced ingredients and ‘farm to fork’ traceability, offering lunch and dinner at O’Hara’s Bar.

There are plenty of options to choose from, and it’s safe to say that you won’t go hungry on the Lough Derg shore. So enjoy the ride and enjoy the winding down afterwards!
