eBike Experience

OBriens Path (3)

We will leave from Killaloe, crossing the river on the 17th Century Old Bridge, before proceeding along the river bank. We then join the new cycle route to Birdhill, an award winning village. From there we take a quiet road back to the Shannon at O'Brien's Bridge. This is another charming village, where we go off road to take a look at the stunning Parteen Weir, which splits the Shannon in 2, and was an extremely ambitious project completed in the early years of Irish independence. Next we return to O'Brien's Bridge and move into the rolling countryside of County Clare, returning to Killaloe via more quiet country roads.

The cycle will take around 2 hours, with plenty of pauses to admire the view and catch your breath, and opportunities for a coffee break at Birdhill or O'Brien's Bridge. The roads are quiet and VERY scenic with no major hills, but your powerful eBike will take care of all those uphill stretches for you.

Please note that those who wish for a more challenging cycle can also be accommodated, with an alternative route to the stunning Graves of the Leinstermen viewpoint. This involves a fairly long climb, but if you are up to the challenge you will be delighted with the views and the sense of achievement!

Kayak Experience

My Next Aventure

We will leave from the Old Bridge at Killaloe, exploring the canal and the River Shannon. With your kayak you can meander through the inspiring vistas and explore life at a different pace. Sit back and let your mind be free. See what wildlife you can spot on our tours including kingfishers, cormorants, swans, otters and the white-tailed sea eagle. Also, hear about the history of the area, which was once home to the famous Brian Boru, High King of Ireland.

The kayak tour will take around 2 hours, and will be tailored to the experience and abilities of the group. Full tuition is provided by your guide, courtesy of mynextadventure.ie.
