Fuchsia Lane Farm is approximately 2km outside of Terryglass, a picturesque harbour town at the northern end of Lough Derg. Niall and Inez provide high quality award-winning self catering cottages on a farm. From Fuchsia Lane we offer two tours. The first tour is the Monastic Settlement Tour, which takes you to Lorrha, where you can explore 2 churches, an abbey and a friary. The oldest of these dates back to around 600AD. Nearby to Lorrha is Lackeen Castle, former stronghold of the O’Kennedy family. Because Lorrha is a ‘hidden gem’, there is a very good chance that as you wander among the ancient buildings you will have them to yourself. The second tour option is the Lake Shores tour. This takes you through the North Tipperary Countryside to the Lough Derg shore at Luska, from where we will work our way back along the Lough shore past such highlights as Kilbarron Quay and Mota Quay. The views are stunning, yet this is a very under-visited section of the lake, so you can experience some real peace and quiet as you gaze out over the water!
River Run House & Self Catering
River Run House is situate in Terryglass village, and from here we offer the same two tours as described above for Fuchsia Lane Farm. River Run House is a row of cottages which can be hired out in its entirety for a large group, or can be rented in sections for couples or families. Visitors have the option of being catered or self-catered; either way you will enjoy a fantastic stay with this great quality accommodation.
