The tour will start from Nenagh Tourist Office in Banba Square, and head out of town along quiet roads. The first stop is at Knigh Cross. Here we will hear the story of the Tower House which was home to the powerful O’Kennedy family. It is said to be haunted by the ghost of a father and son who took refuge there. In the lane behind the tower, a ‘Headless Coach’ is said to rattle down the lane on a dark night. And across the road at the Knigh Church, we will hear the story of the ‘murder grave’, where the killers of one-time Tower resident Calib Minnit are named for all eternity.

Moving on, we will travel through the beautiful North Tipperary countryside through Carney to the shore of Lough Derg at Luska, where we will hear of ghostly ships sailing the lake, before moving on to nearby Annagh Castle, said to be guarded by the spirit of one Edward Roe O’Kennedy to this day, lest anyone should try to take his treasure.

We now return to Nenagh via the picturesque village of Puckaun and follow the quiet roads back into Nenagh, where we complete the tour with a visit to Nenagh Castle. Numerous people have reported feeling suddenly very cold at various spots in the castle, as well as hearing unexplained noises. But whether or not the spirits are around for your visit, you will be able to climb the stairs to the top of the castle and enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding areas.
