Adding On To The Experience!

This summer we have been developing further collaborations with other businesses around Lough Derg, to offer combined experiences where guests can enjoy a guided tour along with experiencing another aspect of the lake, all in one package! So why not make a day of it this summer.

eBike and Kayak

Last year, we offered the eBike and Kayak experience at Garrykennedy. We are offering it again this year, but now at Killaloe, in conjunction with My Next Adventure.

• Kayak along the canal and out onto the River Shannon with an expert guide, exploring the river and hearing stories of the history of beautiful Killaloe.
• Enjoy a discounted lunch at Raw Cafe in Killaloe.
• Explore the banks of the Shannon by eBike, on a guided tour which takes in Ballina, the charming villages of Birdhill and O’Brien’s Bridge, visits the magnificent Parteen Weir and returns to Killaloe via quiet and very scenic back roads.

eBike and Sauna

Lakeside Sauna operate a mobile sauna at various spots around Lough Derg. On Sundays they are situated at Skehanagh, near to Puckaun in North Tipperary, and we offer a package where customers can enjoy the following.

• Explore the North Tipperary countryside between Skehanagh and the harbour town of Terryglass, visiting the Shane MacGowan memorial at Kilbarron Village before returning along the beautiful lake shore on quiet roads.
• Enjoy a dip in Lough Derg before relaxing in the sauna.

eBike and Lake Cruise

New for 2025, Derg Lake Tours are offering lake cruises on a Tornado RIB from Terryglass and Portumna, and we are delighted to be able to offer a combined eBike and RIB experience.

• Meet at Dromineer, and eBike to Terryglass, enjoying quiet back roads through scenic countryside, including historic sites at Knigh Cross and Kilbarron, as well as stunning lake views between Luska and Terryglass.
• Enjoy a discounted lunch at the Derg Inn in Terryglass (must be pre-booked, and subject to availability).
• Sail back to Dromineer by RIB, enjoying a relaxing cruise or picking up the pace, as you prefer!

eBike to Inis Cealtra

Also new for 2025, we are offering eBike guided tours to Mountshannon, where you can board the boat to Inis Cealtra (Holy Island) operated by Holy Island Boat Trips.

• Start from Killaloe or from Tuamgraney, and cycle along the Lough Derg shore to Mountshannon, pausing for your first view of Inis Cealtra en route.
• Optionally, visit the Inis Cealtra visitor experience to get an overview of the history of the island.
• Sail to Inis Cealtra, where you will have an hour to wander among the ancient ruins, breathe in the silence and enjoy the unique atmosphere.
• Return by eBike to your starting point.
