Some of our customers want to cycle great distances using our powerful eBikes. Others prefer to just take in the key sites and not cycle quite as far! So to cater for those who prefer the shorter distances, we have introduced a new route from Nenagh, which will take you from the historic town to the lake shore at Dromineer, then back again.

Due to the shorter distance, this tour can be completed in 2 hours, and is available for the lower price of €50 per person. It can be booked at this link.

Highlights

The route starts from the Tourist Office in Nenagh, or can start from your accommodation in the Nenagh area. As we head out of Nenagh, you will pass by the castle and also see the historic Nenagh Gaol and the St Mary of the Rosary church.

Nenagh Castle

Heading out of Nenagh on Dromin Road, there is a cycle lane which runs alongside the road, then we cross over the bypass and the rest of the route is on quiet country lanes all the way!

The lanes take us past historic estates, and along Ballyanny, which was built as a famine relief project originally.

We cross the Nenagh River twice on our way to Dromineer, and the crossing at Ballyartella is by the very picturesque weir which once powered the Hanlys Woollen Mills.

Continuing towards Dromineer, we pass along more quiet country lanes, and finally descend into Dromineer from Killaun, giving panoramic views down over the lake. On arrival in Dromineer, we can view the historic 13th Century castle, can take a stroll along the lake shore, and can pause for a coffee at either Ritual Sauna or at the newly opened Baker's Table.

Finally, suitably refreshed, we return to Nenagh. It's a great relaxing way to explore the Lough Derg shore.
