Thank you to Rob from Lough Derg e-bike Tours for hosting a wonderful day on two wheels in the Silvermine Mountains.
In my youth I enjoyed the purity of man and machine with a bike as light as a feather powered by human effort alone. So it was with some guilt that I embarked on the prospect of battery assistance to pedal forth along the country lanes again. Pure joy banished the guilt in a heartbeat as I speed along, not quite effortlessly, but in a joint effort with my lithium iron friend to turbo charge up very steep hills that once would have had tested my limits.
Our trip was punctuated with pit stops to catch sustenance and historical points of interest gently imparted by a very knowledgable Rob.
The bikes were easy to get used to and purred along with German efficiency.

What a fantastic morning we have had with Lough Derg Ebike Tours. We are a couple in our 60's and don't do much bike riding these days. This was our first time on electric bikes and now we are total converts. Rob is such a kind and knowledgable guy and provided clear instructions on use of the equipment. The bikes are first rate and very easy to use. We took the Silvermines tour and marvelled at how accessible the hill climbing was using the turbo charge on the bikes. There was also plenty of down hill cycling too and beautiful views along the way. Rob built in some welcome stops en route - an opportunity to provide local information about the area and also to check that everyone was OK. We had a lovely day out with Lough Derg Ebike Tours! Rob is very knowledgeable about the area and the GPS was easy to use (even for me who gets lost quite easily) The countryside is beautiful and the bikes are super easy to use. Just had the nicest cycle around Lough Derg in Co Tipperary with Lough Derg eBike Tours.
Owner, Rob Queen, made sure we were well equipped with all we needed for our tour.
The eBikes are fantastic and the hubby said “they’re faster on the hills than on the flat.” 😁
I would highly recommend Lough Derg eBike Tours for a great outdoor experience!!
