This tour takes you to the Lake Shore at Garrykennedy before exploring the hills of the Arra and Silvermines ranges.

What do I need to wear?

You need to wear comfortable clothing. Lightweight rain gear is always advisable.

The price for this tour is 75 per person

How long is the tour?

The tour is 4 hours. Because of the distance and the hills involved in this route, it is recommended only for experienced cyclists.

How can I purchase a ticket?

You can book your slot at the Nenagh Tourist Office, or online. Guided tours must be purchased in advance, by close of business the day before.

How many people will there be on the tour?

We have a maximum of 6 people per tour

Where does the tour begin?

The tour begins from the Nenagh Tourist Office, although it can also begin from your accommodation by prior arrangement, within 20kms of Nenagh. Tour route may vary depending on the start point.




Visit the Lough Derg shore at beautiful and historic Garrykennedy. Here you will find a harbour, a castle and beautiful woodland. You can also pause for refreshments at the coffee van or at Larkins pub.

Silvermines Range

The Arra and Silvermines ranges

After leaving the Lake Shore behind, we head uphill into the Arra range, cycling through wooded valleys before crossing over to the Silvermines range. The scenery is beautiful, and the uphills are made easier by your eBike.

Silvermines is a scenic town at the foot of the Silvermines hills. As the name suggests, there used to be mines for silver (and many other precious metals) here, although the last mine closed in the 1980s. If you wish, we can dismount and take a look at some of the surviving buildings from the town's mining past.

This tour takes you to the Lake Shore at Garrykennedy before heading up in the Arra Mountain Range. We then descend through beautiful wooded valleys before crossing over to the Silvermines range, and into Silvermines town.

The tour is perfect if you enjoy hill cycling, although the climbs are not overly difficult with an eBike.

The tour starts and ends in Nenagh, and is recommended only for experienced cyclists due to the hill climbs and the distance involved. There is an opportunity for refreshments at Garrykennedy (cost not included in the price of the tour).

Please note that the tour can also begin and end at your accommodation, by arrangement.
