Birdhill
Birdhill is a great spot to pause for a bite to eat or a coffee, featuring the Old Barracks and Matt the Thresher.

More Information - The 3 Counties Shannon Tour
This tour takes you on a circuit of the areas around the River Shannon to the south of Lough Derg, through counties Tipperary, Limerick and Clare.
The tour starts in Killaloe, and is suited to cyclists of all abilities. The tour crosses the river into Ballina, then heads away from the Shannon through the lower reaches of the Arra Range to the well-kept village of Birdhill, where you can pause for refreshments (cost not included in the price of the tour).
Next we will head back to the Shannon at O'Brien's Bridge. Here we cross over the river and visit Parteen Weir, which splits the Shannon in two, and was a very significant engineering project in the early years of the Irish Free State. After Parteen, we move into County Clare, and take quiet back roads up to historic Killaloe, where the tour ends.
